OHEL has successfully launched an innovative concept of \”The Eco Cabin\”. This new site office is self-sufficient in terms of energy use; it uses wind turbine and solar panels to generate power. Owls Hall \”out of box\” thinking has been highly appreciated by our customers including large construction firms like Skanska and Balfour Beatty.
The unique OHEL Eco cabin was displayed by SBBJV on M25 DBFO project during the Environmental Week to promote the sustainable concept to other contractors on site.
The site cabin offers value for money as it is a self-sustained unit and can be used on any site without relying on external electrical support. The Eco cabin generates sufficient power to operate lights, recharge batteries for hand tools and operate computers. Further, the use of wind turbine and solar power restricts the use of generators resulting in reduced fuel consumption. The electricity generated through solar power and wind turbine saves up to 1.5 kw pounds of CO2 for every kwh generated. Overall it reduces operational cost and helps improve the environment.
